Holding boundaries and respecting boundaries is a form of self care to me. Self care and also respect.
Self respect and also respect for others. See, if we eye a limit - that means we know the limit. And if we know the limit - it means we know ourselves well enough to know our limits. And if we point to our limit, that means we acknowledge that the crossing of our limit can produce discomfort or difficulty in us or in others. So we are protecting them from our unpredictable disregulated self or we protect ourselves from our own demons.
