My favorite thing about going to the dictionary in order to truly comprehend a word - is that there is always room for surprises. Sure, sometimes words are really as predictable as we use them in our every day lives. But sometimes... they can surprise us somehow, infuse a new meaning to the word, show us that taking things for granted (like our knowledge of a word) can be quite limiting. Curiosity, hunger for knowledge, and going the extra mile are essential to grow our capacity to understand words. To understand anything really. Or anyone.
The word of the day is a word that surprised me in its definition: TRUST (noun) * Firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. You may be wondering 'what is so unpredictable about that statement.' Well, it's the notion that trust is a BELIEf. And a 'belief in truth'!? I have chills. Or more so...: I have TRUST.
