COMPASSION
(noun) *Sympathetic consciousness of others' distress together with a desire to alleviate it. Today I noticed the word PASSION is in the word COMPASSION. It to me seemed as if compassion can also be described as WITH PASSION. But what about suffering? That seemed to be a missing element. After all, when we have compassion, it is usually (or...always?) to someone's suffering. So this description of the meaning of COMPASSION fits my way of thinking well: 'TO SUFFER TOGETHER.'
