It's 10:24pm and I haven't written anything today.
It's 10:24pm and I'm wondering what will I write about today!?
SHIT! Now it's 10:25pm and I am staring at my computer screen, clueless, tired, and ingesting way too much radiation from the screen. Maybe now is the time to purchase those lady boss blue light glasses? Hmmm....
'Stop it!' I tell myself. 'Shut your mind and focus on the task at hand. It's 10:27pm already and you still haven't written a thing.' And then, I respond, to myself: 'But...who cares anyways? I'm tired, and clueless on what to write about, and every minute that passes makes me wanna browse those virtual glasses aisles and shop 'till my eyes no longer hurt...'
Then, my eyes find themselves trailing to that segment on the right of this page, the one that says:
WRITING SOMETHING EVERY DAY. EVEN IF IT'S ONLY A WORD.
So the word of the day - and basically my very own magic trick in life -
ladies and gents, and wizards and angels, is:
ACCOUNTABILITY (noun) The quality or state of being accountable. An obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions . (Miriam Webster Dictionary)
It's 10:39pm and I am about to hit 'POST'.
THAT is accountability my friends.
In April 2020, while experiencing her first ever global pandemic, Tamar Pelzig pledged to write something every day, even if it's only a word, so she welcomed to the world a daily blog to keep her creative writing wheels rolling.
