Today the world,
Seemed prettier from the inside of my home. Seemed quieter from the pages of my book. Seemed caring from the taste of my homemade lunch. Today the world, Smiled at me for a moment. Reminded me of its beauty. And its tolerance. And its peace. Today the world, Laughed with me at a moment of silliness. Cuddled with me when I was lazy in bed. Danced with me to a song I love. Today the world showed me its beauty. And then I went outside, and met its ugliness.
