Social media.
It's that beast of likes, of dopamines, of insecurities, of filters, of Instagram, and views, and cyber bullying, and pressure, and virtue signaling, and misinformation, and conspiracy theories, and hate, and love bombing, and memory lane, and comments, and stocking, and blocking, and censorship and..... is it AT ALL... social!?!? No. Social media is so addictive and time consuming, that it takes us away from any type of real person-to-person interaction. Add a year of social distancing... and no wonder social media has been blowing up this year even more than ever before. How many times a day do I find myself a complete ZOMBIE - scrolling my finger down the pages of interior design, or travel destination, or curly hair tricks, or influencers selling me their latest skin hack?!? Social media does not make a person social. NO. It makes one an insecure, politically confused shopaholic ZOMBIE. And it takes a lot of critical thinking to navigate the field of Instagram or the likes and stay mindful, and stay healthy in your thinking, and stay.... social. That's it for my dose of rant for the day. Find me on Instagram for the rest of the night, because the addiction is real, and I am just another weak soul caught in the social media firestorm of the century. P.S. Insert eye roll emoji, shrug emoji, lol emoji... and follow for follow? ;)
