Letter To Confidence

Dear Confidence,

Ohhhh the taste of you is something special. Something rare.
I often think I know you... but then something happens and I see what it's really like to be in your presence. And not just be in the idea of you.

I often force myself on you. And then we bump into each other, awkward, tense.
I try to fit myself to your shoes tightly - but like shoving the wrong piece of puzzle forcibly - it doesn't fit. And I end up in pain, or in shame. I end up being even more further away from you than before.

But when you show up to me so openly and smoothly... in the most unexpected times... like today when you showed up in all of your glory -- MAYBE too much glory -- it is grounding to be in you, it is sacred.

I love you, Confidence.
Because you ground me.
Because you are effortless.
Because the real version of you comes humbled, simple, truth telling.
Because you are not some snob looking to prove.
You simply are CONFIDENT in who you are.
In what you are.
In WHY you are.

I love you Confidence because you are always there, in me.
All I have to do is rise up to your level and I see you in all your humble glory.

Love,

Me.

In April 2020, while experiencing  her first ever global pandemic, Tamar Pelzig  pledged to write something every day, even if it's only a word, so she welcomed to the world a daily blog to keep her creative writing wheels rolling.

What evolved is a collection of short stories, poems, life lessons, blurbs and even a play or two.

If you find her lil' life lessons and imaginative storytelling enjoyable or useful - please comment and share!
