When someone says you are 'next level', it isn't a compliment. Nor is it a diss.
It is simply that they say between those words that you are next level TO them. They project their feeling of inadequacy. Their fear of not achieving, accomplishing, belonging. They look at the world as a ladder and to them you are at the step higher than where there are. But the world isn't as simply put together as a ladder. We go up and down and sideways and stay in place. Sometimes we are in two places at once, even more. So when someone says 'next level', be kind. They have not yet seen the world for what it is.
