Remember, Self: Be a heartist. Not just an artist. But also - a HEARTist.
A heartist puts her heart in her art, so she could touch SOMEONE ELSE'S heart. A heartist puts her attention on the connection, not indulgence. A heartist puts her time into deepening her work, so it can unleash straight from the depth of her heart, not her head. Heartistry is the willingness to be dedicated. To get lost in finding meaning. To go the artist's way but with an added layer of heart. Of truth. Of gold tucked under the pile of rubbish. Heartistry makes a mess in the pile of garbage. A mess that goes to uncharted waters. To feelings. To wounds. To love. Heartistry uncovers the burden. It releases. And then it shares itself unto the world... with courage. So, Self: Lift up the pen and face the blank page with the will of a heartist, the mastery of craft, and the heart of a human.
